New Tanks, New Chapter: Little Island Brewing Co. Turns 11 — and We’re Just Getting Started

May 02, 2026

On reinvesting in craft, upgrading our brewhouse, opening brewery tours in Singapore — and why this May weekend at LIBC is one you shouldn’t miss.

Eleven years is a long time in any industry. In craft beer Singapore, it feels like a lifetime. We have watched the landscape shift dramatically around us — and this year, rather than shift with it, we chose to plant our flag firmly in the ground.

We upgraded our brewhouse. We blessed it. We climbed to the top and looked out over what we’d built. And now, we’re inviting you in.

Eleven Years On: Why We Chose to Reinvest

As production costs continue to rise across Singapore’s craft beer scene, many local breweries have had to make difficult decisions — moving toward offshore production, contract brewing, or other cost-saving models. We understand why. The pressures are real.

But with every shift away from hands-on, local brewing comes a trade-off: the loss of the craftsmanship, the character, and the connection to place that defines true craft brewing in Singapore. That is something we have never been willing to compromise on.

“For 11 years, we have grown alongside Singapore’s craft beer community, adapting to an ever-changing industry while staying true to what matters most — to honour our roots while embracing new ways to innovate, create, and share great beer.”

So instead of scaling back, we scaled up. Brand-new tanks, freshly installed, in our own local brewery Singapore facility. Not a cost-saving measure. A declaration of intent.

A Traditional Blessing for an Ancient Craft

Before the first batch ran through the new tanks, we did something that felt deeply right. Our newly revamped LIBC brewery was given a traditional blessing — one historically used to consecrate breweries, honouring an ancient craft that stretches back over 13,000 years.

The ceremony sanctified not just the equipment, but the daily work of the people who show up every day to brew — the team, the process, and the community that surrounds it all. It was a moment of real stillness in a year of big moves.

Now Open: Brewery Tours at LIBC

We have always believed the best way to appreciate craft beer is to understand where it comes from. Which is why we are excited to announce that brewery tours Singapore are now open at Little Island Brewing Co.

Our guided brewery tour in Singapore takes you behind the scenes of the full brewing process — from grain to glass — right here in our newly upgraded facility. You will meet the team, walk the brewhouse floor, and see first-hand what sets a Singapore-brewed craft beer apart from anything made offshore.

Each tour ends the only way it should: with a cold tasting pint of something brewed right where you are standing.

Celebrating With You: What’s On This May

A new chapter deserves a proper celebration. And this May, we have two very different — but equally unmissable — events to kick things off. One for the day. One for the night. Both quintessentially LIBC.

🌸 The Day: Mother’s Day Craft Market at Changi Village

On 9 and 10 May, our LIBC Changi Village home becomes a bustling celebration of local makers, good food, and the kind of slow, sunny afternoon that doesn’t happen often enough. The Mother’s Day Market Singapore is our gift to the community — and it is completely free to enter.

🎸 The Night: Expat 101 — A 90s Party at Gillman Barracks

When the market closes and the sun goes down, the night is just beginning. On Saturday 9 May, our LIBC Southern Depot at Gillman Barracks transforms into a full-blown 90s celebration — and it is the perfect way to keep the day going.

Here’s to the Next Chapter

Eleven years is a milestone worth marking. And the best way we know how to celebrate is not with a party alone, but with a promise — to keep brewing the best craft beer Singapore has to offer, right here, in our own backyard.

New tanks. A brewery blessing. Brewery tours now open. A free market. A 90s night. And a team that has never been more excited about what comes next.

Here is to honouring tradition, embracing innovation, and sharing many more years of great beer. 🍺
